Product Use & Care

• Carefully evaluate whether sunlight, weather and environment are conducive for good growth of plant being repotted.
• Water the existing pot with plant till it is soaked completely.
• Let it rest for a couple of hours so that roots can absorb plenty of water.The plant will come out of its existing pot easily, if the potting soil is moist.
• Do not uproot the plant from the existing pot. It will damage and harm the delicate roots of the plant.
• As shown in Figure, gently tap the pot a couple of times to loosen the soil.
• Carefully, remove plant from its existing pot and plant in in your new Planter / Grow Bed.
• Provide adequate spacing between plants, else they will start competing with each other for space and soil nutrients.
• Gently water the repotted plants from Top Surface of Potting Soil Mix a couple times. This is because it takes time for the plant’s roots to grow deep into Planter/Grow Bed.

• If Water Reservoir in Planter/Grow Bed is empty,fill it by pouring water into Water Filling Pipe till you see water flowing from the Water Overflow Hole.
• Fill Planter/Grow Bed with Light-Weight Well-Draining,Plant Nutrient Rich Potting Soil Mix.
• It is highly recommended to use specially formulated Organic Potting Soil Mix from GreenUpMySpaces’ for best results and healthy plant growth.
• Also, Water the Planter/Grow Bed from Top surface also, till it is drenched completely and you can see excess water flowing out from Overflow Hole.
• Leave Planter/Grow Bed to rest for a day or overnight. This will help Potting Soil Mix to settle down and kick-start the wicking and biological activity in Planter/Grow Bed.

• Once your plants have settled down in Planter/Grow Bed, it’s time for Plant Parenting and nurturing them.
• Regularly, check whether the Potting Soil Mix is completely dry on the surface, about half an inch below.
• If so, it’s time to fill the water reservoir thru Water Filling Tube of Planter/Grow Bed.
• Also, Water the plants from the top surface of the Potting Soil Mix. This allows plants with shallow roots starved of water to immediately get water. Wicking is a slow process and it takes time for the wet potting mix soil at the surface to get wet due to wicking action.

To keep your “GreenUpMySpaces’ Planters and Product Accessories looking its best, a periodic cleaning is required at regular intervals. Here’s how to clean wood products without damaging its Wood Finishing.

• Do not use harsh chemical cleaners as they will dull the surface and remove the protective PU Coating layer, making it vulnerable to dirt.
• Cleaning is to be done with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth from cotton or another material. We do not recommend using microfiber cloths.
• In case of stubborn Dirt, the cleaning is carried out with a clean, damp cloth with water, then drying it with a clean lint-free cloth.

• Avoid frequent moving or shifting of the Planter/Grow Bed.
• Do not drag or lift Planter/Grow Bed using the Top frame. It will damage it and also cause harm to plants growing.
• If at all there is need to move Planter/Grow Bed to a different location, carefully lift it off the floor using the Planter/Grow Bed Base.
• Keep ‘Planter/Grow Bed at least one meter away from a direct source of heat (heaters, radiators, fireplaces etc.).
• Wipe dry with cloth to remove spilled liquids from wooden surfaces as soon as possible.
• Avoid dragging sharp or rough objects across the surface of your wood furniture.
• If the water in the reservoir freezes, it will expand and break the container. Remember to empty water Planter/Grow Bed reservoir before freezing weather comes.
• It’s best to empty, clean and store SIPs indoors during cold weather. Simply invert them and keep the planters in a sheltered outdoor area.
